G Unit Production Specialist/Technical Advisor (Job Number: 190409W-01)


The G Unit Production Specialist will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Technical, and the shifts daily to address production and equipment issues.

This is a key role in helping CDG meet their COT commitments by utilizing their unit operating knowledge and experience. This job is critical to the success of CDG and will at times require the specialist to work hours outside their normal work week to meet business critical needs.

Essential Functions

  • OptimizeUnit Effectiveness

  • Understand rate constraints & work with shift tominimize constraints

  • Monitor process variables to prevent shutdowns

  • Monitor SOC compliance

  • InvestigateShutdowns and Title V deviations

  • Interview Technicians and FLS

  • Generate IP21& IBA charts

  • Schedule and lead investigation team if needed

  • Complete shutdown and environmental investigationreports and 5 why’s

  • Identify improvement opportunities to reduce /eliminate unscheduled shutdowns and environmental incidents

  • Monitorand Investigate Unit Quality

  • Work with Area Specialist to understand reason forNonstandard lots

  • Monitor 1 st snaps of lots to ensure labanalysis is representative of the lot

  • Manage transition planning program

  • Manage Quality CAR system

  • Monitor CUSUM plots

  • ManageTS104 System

  • Maintain methods

  • Schedule completion

  • Track conformance


  • Complete all DCS updates on assignedunit.

  • Work with Area Specialist to ensureSAP, Shop Floor, and Lost Hours are up to date

  • Verify and correct lost hour reasoncoding as needed

  • Verify and input quality data,renames, and box weight corrections for Vamac™ lots as needed in SAP

  • Backfill for Area Specialist asneeded

  • Mentor operators to improveknowledge and experience base (including improving their trouble shootingskills)

  • Assist in training OperatingTechnicians on newly installed MOC's/Projects.

  • Assist the Area Specialist as neededwith schedule, disposition, etc.

  • Manage RPD/RCS trailer inventory

  • Work with technical around productquality, development, and process control

  • Work with the Production & Technical groups inreviewing and upgrading operating procedures


Education, Experience and Skills Required

  1. Autoclave experience

  2. Have good troubleshooting skills.

  3. Have good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Must be self-driven with minimal supervision


  5. 8 hour day shift or 9-80 day shift.

  6. Office - Bldg. 1055 pods
