Swine Innovation platform Lead (Job Number: RES00004153)

This role is overseeing the animal science part for swine related R&D projects and other swine related initiatives. Involved from identifying initial concepts through to final validation working in close cooperation with the product development R&D team.


  • Manages the animal science component of a portfolio of Innovation projects including deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and costs

  • Plans and executes a significant R&D budget

  • Leads research in swine nutrition and intestinal health independently, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of scientists

  • Promotes knowledge leadership in the area of swine nutrition and intestinal health internally and externally

  • Serves as link between Innovation and Marketing, Technology and the Business to promote short and long term revenue growth within the assigned portfolio

  • Contributes to the marketing strategy of the swine segment in collaboration with marketing

  • Maintains an up to date awareness of all R&D activities in the area through literature review and industry and academic networking

  • Performs key account support activities as agreed from time to time



  • PhD Degree qualification in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, or related subject with a focus on swine nutrition, intestinal health, or physiology

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a R&D role in the Animal Nutrition industry

  • Good understanding of the Swine industry

  • In depth understanding of swine nutrition or intestinal health, and a strong understanding of intestinal physiology and microbiology. Knowledge in immunology is an advantage

  • Established track record in swine nutrition or intestinal health research, evident through publications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary teams and/or large projects to achieve specific deliverables and timelines

  • First hand experience with current laboratory techniques of biology, microbiology, or biochemistry

  • Working level of statistics and use of statistical packages

  • Understanding the global poultry production industry
