The Prediction Theory and Ag Systems Modeling team is seeking a motivated 6-month intern to help develop prediction algorithms capable of incorporating genomic, environmental, and agronomic management practices to improve the predictive accuracy of models for phenomic prediction.
Successful candidates will be comfortable operating in an interdisciplinary environment working on topics including deep learning, dynamical systems, and mechanistic crop growth modeling. Applicants will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge and professional growth in a cutting-edge research environment that involves both the theoretical and applied aspects of method development.
The intern is expected to give a seminar at the end of the professional experience and communicate frequently with peers and colleagues.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.. student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
Competencies &Experience Desired:
Proficiency in a programming language (C++, Python, R)
Familiarity with a deep learning framework (Theano, Tensorflow, etc.)
Familiarity with Bayesian statistics
