LEGAL COUNSEL (Job Number: COU00001012)


We have an opening for an experienced and dynamic generalist commercial lawyer, to be based in Geneva, Switzerland, to provide legal support to the “Specialty Products Division” of DowDuPont Inc. It is anticipated that in the course of 2019, the Specialty Products division of DowDuPont will become a standalone publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Key Responsibilities of the position:

  • You will be in charge of providing legal support to one or more of the business units comprising the Specialty Products Division of DowDuPont, both in Switzerland as well as on a regional EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) basis.

  • You will assess business objectives, identify potential legal exposures, propose optional approaches to business issues and provide legal risk management support.

  • You will provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy and environmental issues, sales contracts, product distribution, outsourcing arrangements, as well ascompetition law assessments and practices.

  • You will assist the company in developing and implementing strategies and practices to mitigate risk in various areas, including to the Company’s brands and intellectual property investments, as well as managing and mitigating litigation exposure.

  • You will provide legal advice and support to project teams, drafting and reviewing contracts and related documentation in relationto regional and/or global M&A projects as well other corporate projects.

  • You will handle the corporate work for the various Swiss-based group subsidiaries.

  • You will, in cooperation with the compliance officer, actively support compliance training.



  • Fully qualified lawyer, with 7-10years post qualification experience; Swiss bar examination would be an advantage.

Experience required:

  • Combination of law firm experience,as well as in-house corporate legal position.

  • Successful track record incontractual, corporate legal, litigation, antitrust and compliancematters.

  • Experience in regulatory matters, e.g.REACH, data privacy, export control and/or environmentalwould be an advantage

  • Fluent in English, French; otherlanguages would be a plus.
