SHE Consultant-Environmental (Job Number: 016890W-01)
Primary Function: This position is primarily accountable and responsible for managing all aspects related to compliance with the Title V permit at three R&D / office locations in a way that ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, permits, and corporate policy. The person in this position represents DuPont FS&RE and involves periodic face to face and telephone interactions with officials from environmental regulatory agencies as a routine part of the job. Additional areas of involvement may include overall site environmental stewardship for other media such as Solid Waste Management, SARA Reporting, Chemical Weapons Convention Declaration, Clean Water Regulations. The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, including RCRA, EPCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act .
Accountabilities: Specific duties in this assignment include (but are not limited to):
Interface with state and federal environmental agencies on permit compliance and renewal, site inspections, regulatory interpretations, and advocacy. Host agencies during site audits/visits.
Develop, maintain and administer systems to stay in compliance with existing regulations.
Evaluate and review proposed regulations to determine the impact to site environmental programs and compliance status.
Prepare and/or facilitate preparation of site environmental permits and permit renewals.
Prepare and/or facilitate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual environmental reports.
Network with corporate environmental professionals to provide environmental leadership and guidance.
Provide onsite technical/technology expertise for air related matters.
Provide day-to-day environmental support to FS&RE at Experimental Station, Chestnut Run Plaza, and Haskell operations.
Provide guidance to other SHE coordinators related to air compliance matters.
Manage and participate in first & second party environmental audits to include audit reports and tracking action plan closure.
Work with site training coordinator to ensure that all required training programs and documentation is current and maintained
Responsible for tracking of site hood registrations and chemical inventories to include 3 rd party tenants information.
BS in Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or other related science fields
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Have Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) experience at a manufacturing plant site, R&D facility or similar environment.
Have experience negotiating and interacting with state and federal regulatory agency personnel like DNREC.
Be self-motivated and need minimal guidance.
Be able to work well with at all levels in the organization while creating and maintaining a respectful work environment.
Be one of several on-call SHE contact person 24/7 to man pager.
Demonstrate ability to use computer systems, software applications, databases, in particular Excel.
Serve as a member of the Emergency Management team in support of air compliance.
