Senior Demand Analyst (Job Number: 015610W-01)
The DuPont Crop Protection business is seeking a Sr. Demand Analyst to support our Demand Planning organization. This position is part of the divestiture to FMC, which is conditional on meeting regulatory requirements. It is intended that this position will move to the FMC building in Philadelphia once the divestiture is complete.
The Sr. Demand Analyst is a key role in our Demand Planning process. The Sr. Analyst is one of the key ‘Expert’ user in the Demand Planning system, e.g. APO or SCM 7.0 with a technology focus on the ‘science’ of demand planning, responsible for data maintenance, monthly statistical forecasting, metrics, and reporting. He/she is accountable for the proper functioning and use of the demand planning system. Ensures Demand Planning data quality using proactive maintenance techniques, including demand history validation and outlier correction. Understands how to apply demand planning system capability - statistical forecasting models and algorithms, etc. – to meet the business Demand Planning process requirements. Uses knowledge of trend analysis, forecast methods, leading indicator modeling and new product models to optimize statistical forecasts. Uses demand performance and other process metrics to determine improvement opportunities.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities :
Conducts regular Demand Planning data quality audits and maintenance activities, including demand history validation and outlier correction, to ensure optimal data performance.
Responsible for running Differentiated Forecast Strategy analysis, detailing results of the analysis, and implementing within the planning system and process.
Conducts monthly statistical forecast runs as input to a Multi-view consensus demand plan.
Provides analysis and insights on statistical forecast performance.
Develops metric dashboards and reports, as appropriate, to communicate forecast performance.
Maintains knowledge of advanced forecasting techniques and methods.
Responsible for developing Differentiated Forecast Strategy segmentation model, determining optimum statistics
models and parameters (using SCM7.0 FLO model or other tool) and implementing within the planning system and
Manages Forecast Level Optimizer capability (FLO model in SCM7.0), where available, to establish proper statistical models and parameters within SCM7.0 statistics module.
Interactively tunes statistical models to drive continuous forecast performance improvement.
Builds custom macros and modifies system settings in the planning tool (SCM7.0) as necessary to improve
effectiveness and system performance.
Develops profiles to model product life cycle (new/emerging products, old/ discontinued products) to improve forecast performance.
Provides guidance to other Demand Analysts and Demand Planners to ensure continuous statistical forecasting.
Provides advanced analysis of and insights on demand trends and leading indicator modeling.
Maintains current knowledge of advanced forecasting techniques and methods.
Undergraduate Business, Supply Chain, Applied Mathematics, Computational Science or Statistics degree.
5 years equivalent experience.
Six Sigma (Green Belt certification) preferred.
Expert Demand tool training (APO/SCM7.0).
Passing score on APICS Module I (Basics of Supply Chain Management) within 2 years.
Statistics for business analysis.
Advanced capability in statistical modeling and expert user of SCM Planning System including Forecast Level Optimizer (FLO) Module preferred.
Capable of building Differentiated Forecast Strategy 4-Quad segmentation model based on business criteria and FLO output.
Deep understanding of trend analysis, forecast algorithms, leading indicator modeling and system based scenario planning.
Capable of interactively tuning stat models (adjusting parameters), building custom macros and modifying system settings.
Supports Portfolio Managers and Planners to apply Profiling and Product Lifecycle Planning.
Strong analytical, technical, and computer skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated to be self-motivated, strong discipline and organization skills.
Strong desire to develop and technically support our Demand Planning processes.
Strong track record of delivering results that meet or exceed expectations.
Excellent planning, prioritization and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability working on teams and developing strong team interactions.
