D uPont Industrial Biosciences is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Nevada, Iowa manufacturing team as the Electrical Specialist. DuPont Industrial Biosciences comprises an unmatched portfolio of capabilities in industrial biotechnology and bio-based solutions.
In this role you will have overall responsibility for our production facility’s electrical programs. This entails a broad range of activities which includes: installation of new motor control centers, specification of motors from ¼ HP to 600HP, project level reviews for all new electrical components & installations, providing training to electrical craftspeople and the general site population, development of improvement projects for electrical and instrumentation related reliability issues, and specification and set-up of spare parts.
Serve as the technical guardian for all electrical engineering documentation and be the technical interface with the local public electric utility. Identification of maintenance and reliability protocols for high voltage equipment and lead start-up, commissioning, calibration, and coordination of primary electrical distribution equipment. Oversee the design and specification of stand-by generators and UPS systems for business critical systems operations. Remain current with the latest technology, relevant DuPont and industry standards, and the NEC code. This role also provides back-up support to our site maintenance team for higher complexity troubleshooting and investigation of electrical and instrumentation problems.

§ Associates degree, minimum, in electrical technology or related field of study
§ 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in high voltage power distribution system design, engineering and maintenance.
§ Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial manufacturing environment.
§ Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot high voltage electrical distribution systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), adjustable speed drives, profibus, and motor control centers
§ Experience with 480V, 4160V, and 13.8 KV systems
§ Demonstrated knowledge of electrical principles, technologies, codes and standards.
§ Demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety and electrical hazards analysis
§ Experience with bonding and grounding requirements as it relates to the chemical process industry
§ Familiarity with National Electric Code Division and Zone classification system and related equipment requirements
§ Familiarity with arc flash hazards, associated protective equipment, and training
§ Experience with heat tracing systems used in the chemical process industry
§ Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
§ Experienced in providing training on electrical systems and safety requirements
§ Ability to work in a team environment with people at varying job levels
§ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks while responding to changing priorities
§ Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
