We are looking for a qualified patent administrator to join our global intellectual property team supporting DuPont’s Nutrition and Health business. Reporting to the lead patent counsel for Nutrition and Health, the successful candidate will provide administrative and paralegal support for all patent-related activities, including docketing, patent filing and prosecution, and file maintenance.
Based in our Copenhagen office, the person holding this position will be required to work in close cooperation with our other Copenhagen based patent administrator and with our patent attorneys across Europe (Copenhagen, Paris and Geneva) and the United States. Focus will be given to supporting our in-house European patent filing and prosecution activities. In addition to professional competence, we are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, a team player, and who can thrive in an environment which is subject to change.
The main tasks in the position are:
Docketing and maintenance of deadlines using our onlinedocketing systems
Conducting online filing of patent applications and relatedcorrespondence before the European Patent Office
Supporting our European patent attorneys in maintaining aglobal patent docket
Conducting paralegal activities in support of global patentdocket
Administrative support for European patent oppositions
Maintaining internal patent files and ensuring compliancewith our document retention policies
Maintaining and updating, from time to time, our standardoperating procedures for patent administrator tasks
Coordinating with our colleagues within the US patentadministrator teams to ensure consistency of approach and to provide crossbusiness support where required
The candidate should have several years previous experience as a patent administrator and should preferably hold a patent administrator certification or equivalent qualification. Also required is a good understanding of Microsoft Office programs and experience working with online docketing software such as CPA Global or CPi.
