DuPont’s El Paso, IL Crop Protection Site has opportunities for full service Operations Technicians to join the company. In this role you will function in an integrated management system that fully develops people and organizational capability for effectiveness and creativity in utilizing assets and eliminating all waste (DuPont Production System). As a Technician, you will uphold and ensure others are complying with Company policies, core value (Safety & Health, Environment, Respect for People, and Ethics) and procedures while functioning according to ISO quality standards, contamination prevention guidelines and process safety management standards. Positions will cover afternoon and midnight shifts.

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, adjust and perform maintenance on all types of packaging and formulation equipment.

  • Ensure Area Team Leader has needed information about the area team and related activities

  • Coordinate the training of full and part time employees on all functions in area

  • Dump, move, lift, and carry containers weighing up to 50 pounds either manually or via hand/electric fork trucks

  • Lead and/or participating in safety reviews and audits

  • Form and hand pack boxes with bottles or bags

  • Conduct/lead meetings and interfaces which include safety, production, team building, issue resolving, etc.

  • Disassemble, clean and reassemble equipment

  • Serve as a resource and utilize computer systems and programs to read, write, input and manipulate information; this includes e-mail, procedures, production schedules, SAP, LIMS and other software and systems

Qualifications

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Willing and able to work any shift, including evenings, midnights, and weekends

  • Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required

  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc), basic computer skills, and learning new computer software systems

The following additional skill sets are preferred by the site:

  • Manufacturing and or industrial related experience

  • Experience operating a Fork Truck

  • Lean manufacturing experience and knowledge of 5S organizational practices
