DuPont’s Buffalo Yerkes site currently has an excellent opportunity for a strong leader to join the Corian ® operations leadership team as an Area Manager . In this role, you will be challenged to drive step change improvements in Safety, Quality, and Productivity. This position provides leadership and direction for the area and is responsible for the operation of the low hazard processes in Corian® Sheetline Operations. We are seeking exceptional candidates who have demonstrated leadership and Process Safety Management experience. The role has 6 direct reports and 40 indirect reports. Come make a difference! Cost Management

  • Responsible for improving unit cost controlfor the area, including establishing and meeting fixed and variablecost objectives, along with other performance metrics/resultsincluding yield, production volume, uptime, quality, PSM and trainingcompliance. Communicates andcollaborates with unit leadership team on performance andimprovements.

The DuPont Yerkes site located in Buffalo, New York employs approximately 470 DuPont employees and another 40-60 contractors. Comprised of two business units, Yerkes includes: Corian ® (Sheetlines 1 & 2 plus Shape), Tedlar ® (Polymer, Mix/Casting, SP, Treating/Finishing), and Power Generation (water/steam). The units work independently to produce materials that are used in a variety of products including: countertops, building panels, wall covering, solar cells, and surface finishes for airplanes, cars, buses, and trains – to name a few. The site is represented by United Steelworkers Union.

In order to bequalified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Two-year Associate’s Degree required (BSin Engineering or related field preferred)

  • 3-5 years of leadership in industrialenvironment

  • PSM experience preferred

  • Capable of directly leading andeffectively managing people.

  • Demonstrates strong influencemanagement skills

  • Collaborates well with subordinates,peers, and superiors.

  • Ability to work with a diversepopulation of employees

  • Effective at problem solving andtroubleshooting

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills.

  • Effectively communicates and networksacross the organization.
